Staffordshire Police Cadets
Staffordshire youngsters between 13 and 17 years old are already benefitting from being Police Cadets. They’re not training to be police officers, but they are learning the skills they need for their future.
About Staffordshire Police Cadets
The original Cadet scheme, for 14 to 17-year-olds, was initiated in 2013 by Matthew Ellis to strengthen links between police and young people and promote good citizenship.
As part of a uniformed and disciplined service, youngsters have become more self-confident and outgoing. Many are benefitting academically and socially as well as reconnecting with local policing teams and local communities.
We want to expand the scheme, so that every young person across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent has the chance to be a Cadet.
I’d love to see the new Cadets become a springboard for young people to learn leadership skills, gain confidence and a sense of enhanced civic pride. At its heart, I want the scheme to be supported by businesses who also have that sense of civic responsibility as well as wanting to invest in the future of Staffordshire’s young citizens.

Being a Patron
The PCC stated he would not redirect money that’s used for front line policing to fund the new Cadets Service. That means support from businesses and individuals is crucial. By donating to the charity we’ve established to support the Cadets Service, it can be expanded for the long term. Find out more about the benefits of being a Platinum, Gold or Silver Cadet Patron:
