Ethics, Transparency and Audit Panel
The Staffordshire Commissioner’s Office is looking for members of the public to join a panel who examine the work of Police and Fire services to help strengthen public scrutiny.
The Ethics, Transparency and Audit Panel is made up of residents from across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. They oversee the governance arrangements of the Commissioner’s Office, the Police, and Fire & Rescue, and act as the statutory Audit Committee for all three organisations.
The panel are particularly eager to attract qualified accountants with an interest in public service and community safety.
Volunteers are required to attend up to 10 Police or Fire public meetings per year and 6 Finance Panel meetings a year.
Although this is a volunteering role, an hourly allowance and mileage is provided, as well as full training.
