Police and Crime Commissioner in Burton

Staffordshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis will be hearing about the issues that matter to Burton people at a public meeting this month.

‘Let’s Talk – Coming To You’ will be at Burton Town Hall in King Edward Place on Monday 21 October from 6pm to 7pm.

It’s the latest public meeting where people can tell Mr Ellis first-hand about crime and local policing and their experience of the criminal justice system.

They will also be able to find out more about Commissioner’s new Safer, Fairer, United Communities strategy which is set to be launched next week after thousands of people had their say during consultation over the summer.

Mr Ellis said: “This is a great opportunity to find out what people in Burton have to say. I want to hear what people’s experiences are of policing and the criminal justice system.

“It’s not NHS, local authority, CPS or police money….it’s all public money. We must scrap silo thinking, work to common goals – spend better, achieve more.

“How could things be done better to make sure the system fits the needs of people rather than people having to fit the system?

“This is a key theme in the Safer, Fairer, United Communities strategy which calls for a whole-system approach where public services work collaboratively to common agreed outcomes that make a difference to local people.

“This public meeting provides an opportunity for people to shape the future of policing and the criminal justice services for us all.”

There is free parking opposite the town hall for the event. The post code is ST16 4LD.
