PCC Matthew Ellis

Police and Crime Commisioner in Lichfield

Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis will be hearing about the issues that matter to people in Lichfield on Thursday 29 May. PCC Matthew Ellis

Mr Ellis will hold ‘Let’s Talk’ supermarket surgeries at Tesco in Church Street between 12noon and 1pm and then Waitrose in Darwin Park, Stonnyland Drive, from 1.15pm to 2.15pm.

He will then hold an open meeting at Lichfield District Council house in Frog Lane between 6pm and 7pm.

The events are the latest opportunity for people to tell Mr Ellis first-hand about crime and local policing and their experience of the criminal justice system. People are invited to come along to discuss any concerns they have about crime, policing and community safety with Mr Ellis – no appointment is needed.

Mr Ellis said: “This is a great opportunity to find out what people in Lichfield and the surrounding areas have to say. I want to hear what people’s experiences are of policing and the criminal justice system.

“It’s not NHS, local authority, CPS or police money….it’s all public money. We must scrap silo thinking, work to common goals – spend better, achieve more.

“How could things be done better to make sure the system fits the needs of people rather than people having to fit the system?”

“These events give local people a chance to shape the future of policing and the criminal justice services for us all.”

Mr Ellis will be returning to the city following similar ‘Let’s Talk’ supermarket events in last July. He also took part in a debate with councillors at the Parish Forum in Lichfield in January.
