PCC Speaks to Pace 2000 Exercise and Lifestyle Group

Police and Crime Commissioner for Staffordshire, Matthew Ellis recently spoke to over 30 members of the Pace 2000 Exercise and Lifestyle Group about policing in Staffordshire.

Mr Ellis talked with members at their meeting in Penkridge about policing in their area, the use of Body-cams and Mental Health. He also provided an update on the successful roll-out of mobile technology devices which will help to free up 250,000 hours of visible, front-line policing a year.

Mr Ellis said: “I would like to thank Pace 2000 Exercise and Lifestyle Group for their warm welcome and for having me as their guest speaker, the reception they gave me was fantastic.”

Ivor Hind, Chairman of Pace 2000, said: “We at Pace were extremely pleased and quite surprised at what has been achieved in the last four years by Matthew, and we thoroughly enjoyed his visit.

Mobile technology has been rolled out across the county in a bid to increase the amount of time officers are able to spend in the local community. All officers and PCSOs have been equipped with new smartphone and tablet devices giving them access to the information and tools they need.

Community groups can contact the Police and Crime Commissioner’s office on 01785 232270 or email pcc@staffordshire.pcc.pnn.gov.uk to request a visit from the PCC. They can also write to the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, Staffordshire Police HQ (Block 9), Weston Road, Stafford, ST18 0YY.
