Staffordshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis took part in a lively debate with the Stone and District Probus Club at the Stone Golf Club on Monday.

The Probus Club provides regular gatherings for retired or semi-retired professionals and business men with similar interests.

Mr Ellis attended to speak about his experience of policing, the criminal justice system and the future of policing in Staffordshire.

Mr Ellis said: “It was a real privilege to speak at The Stone and District Probus Club. I really enjoyed my afternoon with the members and it was a great opportunity to talk about the role and work of the Police and Crime Commissioner.

“It was great to see so many people who are passionate about the community and the future of Stone and the surrounding area.”

The Club President John Olsen said: “We very much enjoyed discussing local policing issues with the Commissioner who gave a very well-received address in which he spoke about the PCC role. It was encouraging to hear of such good progress and I look forward to hearing more over the coming years.”
