Matthew Ellis, Staffordshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, spoke to councillors from across Stafford and Stone at a parish forum last night.
Mr Ellis was invited to speak at the Stafford Borough Council Parish Forum which drew representatives from dozens of parish authorities.
The Commissioners discussed the progress made in the first 18 months of his role along with the challenges and opportunities facing policing and the criminal justice system across Staffordshire.
He said: “There was a great attendance at the forum from local communities across Stafford, Stone and surrounding areas. I thoroughly enjoyed the interesting questions and discussion we had.
“Over the last 18 months what we have been doing is setting down the foundations for real change.
“As we look to make significant savings by doing things differently, my goals going forward are to maintain neighbourhood police officer numbers and free up thousands of hours of police time through vast improvements in technology.”
