Matthew Ellis, Staffordshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, has praised the successful policing operation at last weekend’s V Festival at Weston Park.
Staffordshire Police worked closely with the festival’s organisers, security firm Showsec and other emergency services at the annual event to see crime reduce.
The Commissioner said: “Policing such a big event which attracts tens of thousands of people to Staffordshire every year is no mean feat and takes significant organising and co-ordination.
“Once again, Staffordshire police officers rose to the challenge, working around the clock to make sure festival-goers were able to enjoy themselves in safety and to minimise disruption to the local community. This included Specials who play a crucial role in supporting their full-time colleagues.
“The fall in crime and smooth-running of the operation was a credit to the police, the organisers and other agencies involved.”
