PCC Matthew Ellis at Sainsbury's in Tamworth

PCC in Newcastle and Stoke-on-Trent

Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis will be hearing about the issues that matter to people in Newcastle-under-Lyme tomorrow (Thurs) and Stoke-on-Trent on Friday, 16 May.

Mr Ellis is holding the first ‘Let’s Talk’ event at Asda on Wolstanton Retail Park in Newcastle between 11 and 12noon tomorrow.

On Friday, he will be at Morrisons on Festival Park in Stoke between 3.30pm and 4.30pm and at Tesco, off Potteries Way in Hanley, between 4.45pm and 5.45pm.

The events are the latest opportunity for people to tell Mr Ellis first-hand about crime and local policing and their experience of the criminal justice system. People are invited to come along to discuss any concerns they have about crime, policing and community safety with Mr Ellis – no appointment is needed.

Mr Ellis said: “This is a great opportunity to find out what people in Newcastle and Stoke-on-Trent have to say. I want to hear what people’s experiences are of policing and the criminal justice system.

“It’s not NHS, local authority, CPS or police money….it’s all public money. We must scrap silo thinking, work to common goals – spend better, achieve more.

“How could things be done better to make sure the system fits the needs of people rather than people having to fit the system?”

“These events give local people a chance to shape the future of policing and the criminal justice services for us all.”
