Staffordshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis talked to people about the issues that matter to them in Stafford.
The ‘Let’s Talk’ surgeries were held at Asda in Queensway and Tesco in Newport Road on Friday (5 September).
Mr Ellis said: “I was really pleased by the number of people who wanted to speak to me at both supermarkets with, for the first time, small queues forming before the surgeries started.
“What was also great was that people came and told me about the work we’ve been spearheading – such as the crackdown on car insurance dodgers – so it’s clear that the message is hitting home.
“It’s always very useful to talk to people one to one about the issues that matter to them and to hear about their experiences of policing and the criminal justice system.
“We talked about how the system needs to fit them, rather than them having to fit the system. It’s not NHS money, local authority, CPS or police money…it’s all public money. We must scrap silo thinking, work to common goals – spend better, achieve more.”
Details about future ‘Let’s Talk’ events will be posted at
