Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis spoke about his vision for policing and community safety during a special meeting with councillors in South Staffordshire.
Mr Ellis debated the issues that mattered to Essington Parish Council and the local community when he met with councillors in the village last night (Mon).
His visit followed a successful meeting with councillors from across South Staffordshire when he was the keynote speaker at the annual Parish Summit in Codsall at the end of November.
Last night, Mr Ellis explained the role of the PCC and updated councillors on ongoing work to free up officers time through investment in technology as well as improving transparency and joining services up to end silo working.
He said: “I had a really enjoyable 90 minutes of debate and discussion with councillors in Essington last night.
“It was useful to hear their concerns about issues including obstructive parking and speeding by inconsiderate motorists and to talk about the way forward.
“It’s all part of getting out and about and talking to as many people as possible about what we’re trying to do to get value for money policing, more police visibility and spend public money better.”
