The Commissioner produces an Annual Report each year to inform the public and our partners on the progress that has been made against his Police and Crime Plan and Fire and Rescue Plan.

This report gives both the public and the body which oversees his work, the Police, Fire and Crime Panel, the opportunity to review his activities and work and provide their feedback.

These reports cover each financial year. All feedback on the report is welcomed. Please use our Contact page to give us your views.

Have you, or someone you care about, experienced sexual assault or abuse?

You are not alone

Sexual assault or abuse can happen to anyone – men, women or children.

No-one deserves or asks for it to happen. It is not your fault.

Sexual assault and abuse is any unwanted sexual act or activity without consent. It includes rape, child sexual abuse, sexual harassment, rape within marriage or relationships, forced marriage, so-called honour-based violence, female genital mutilation, trafficking, sexual exploitation and ritual abuse. Sexual abuse can also happen online.

The abuse can be a stranger, or even someone you know and trust.

The new Survive service, run by Staffordshire Women’s Aid and commissioned by the Staffordshire Commissioner’s Office provides free confidential support, practical help, counselling for victims of abuse and their loved ones.

How we make, record and publish decisions

The Commissioner has an obligation to ensure that decision making is open and transparent. Fire and Rescue service decisions are available on the Fire and Rescue pages.

The Police,Fire and Crime Panel has the ability to review and scrutinise key decisions made by the Commissioner and deadline dates for decisions relating to the setting of the budget and council tax precept.

Different levels of decisions exist. The Commissioner is required to publish key decisions on their website. This is done as decisions are made, together with supporting information as appropriate, on a standard decision making form.

Who We Are and What We Do

The Staffordshire Police, Fire & Rescue and Crime Commissioner has a dedicated team of staff who help him hold Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue to account and deliver against the priorities of the Police and Crime Plan and Fire and Rescue Plan.

The Staffordshire Commissioner’s Office is a non-political, impartial organisation.

They work to support the Commissioner and help him realise his vision and strategies for police and fire & rescue services across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

The Staffordshire Commissioner’s office has 25.4 full time equivalent staff including the Deputy Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.

The Commissioner’s office and Staffordshire Police strive to provide outstanding service to both its internal and external customers and the concept of value for money is embedded throughout the organisations in line with this principle. Contract Standing Orders have been drawn up to ensure that value for money is achieved when procuring goods and services.

Any single purchase greater than £5,000 would be subject to a competitive process as stated in the Contract Standing Orders. A significant proportion of spend between £500 and £5,000 would be against existing contracts eg stationery purchases.
