Staffordshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Matthew Ellis spoke to Lichfield Evening Women’s Institute (WI) about local policing last Wednesday.
Mr Ellis talked with members of the WI at their meeting in Lichfield about the work he has done to join up services and the ongoing roll-out of mobile technology devices which will help to free up 250,000 hours of visible, front-line policing a year. He then answered questions from members on topics including the new police centre of excellence being built in Lichfield.
Mr Ellis said: “I would like to thank Lichfield WI for such an amazing welcome and for inviting me to be their guest speaker.
“I had a thorough enjoyable couple of hours and answered many questions about the work being done on mental health and the new Lichfield centre of excellence.”
Lynda Littlewood, president on Lichfield Evening WI, said: “We would like to thank Mr Ellis for fabulous talk. It told us a lot about all the excellent work he is doing and it made us feel very safe.
“His enthusiasm about the work he does is amazing and we hope he will stand in the upcoming PCC election again.”
