Staffordshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis spoke to dozens of shoppers in Stone on Saturday – despite the blustery weather.
The ‘Let’s Talk’ supermarket events were held at Morrisons in Mill Street from 11am to noon and then in Co-op in High Street from 12.15pm to 1.15pm.
People were invited to come along to discuss any concerns they had about crime, policing and community safety with Mr Ellis.
He said: “These supermarket events have proved really popular with people across Staffordshire – whatever the weather!
“It was a great opportunity to find out what people in Stone had to say about their experiences of policing and the criminal justice system on Saturday.
“I couldn’t believe the number of people I speak to who know what I’m doing as PCC – it’s really motivational.”
The surgeries followed successful ‘Let’s Talk’ supermarket surgeries in places including Stafford, Rugeley, Burton, Cannock and Stoke-on-Trent in recent months.
Details about future ‘Let’s Talk’ events will be posted at: http://www.staffordshire-pcc.gov.uk/lets-talk
