Who we are and what we do

The Commissioner’s office has 23 members of permanent staff (19 women [including the Deputy PCC] and 4 men) (1 person from an ethnic minority background and nobody with a disability).

Ethics, Transparency, Audit Committee

The Ethics, Transparency, Audit Committee is one of the Commissioner’s drivers that opens up the police and Fire to even greater public scrutiny.

The panel, made up of local people, was established and funded by the Commissioner, and plays a key role in the new dawn of transparency, putting decisions made by the Commissioner, Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Authority under the spotlight.

Police, Fire and Crime Panel (PFCP)

The work of the Staffordshire Commissioner is scrutinised by the Police, Fire and Crime Panel made up of ten local councillors (one from each of the main councils in the Force area), together with two independent ‘co-opted’ members. They have the ability to review the decisions made by the Commissioner and have the opportunity to question the Commissioner, the Chief Constable and the Chief Fire Officer.
