Staffordshire Police Cadets attended a boxing club in Stoke-on-Trent last week (Friday 29 May), to learn new skills.

Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Arnold attended the Blue Glove Boxing Academy with the Stoke North Cadets.

The Blue Glove Boxing Academy, in Burslem, is a police boxing club run by officers who train and raise money for charity. The Stoke North Cadets donated their collective subs to the boxing club.

The Cadet scheme was a key election pledge for Staffordshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis. It aims to strengthen links between the police and young people and promote good citizenship.

Mrs Arnold said: “I would like to thank Blue Glove Boxing Academy for hosting the Staffordshire Police Cadets, they had a tremendous workout and enjoyable experience.

“The Cadet scheme has had a positive influence to the lives of many young people in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

“Boxing is great because it shares skills that are important for cadets to such as control, respect and discipline.”
