Benefits- Provide independent support to detainees who may be vulnerable
- Assist the detainee to ensure they understand what is happening during the police interview and investigative stages
- Ensure the Police comply with PACE legislation in respect of the detainee
- Aid communication between the detainee, the Police and others as required (potentially this could also be with the detainee’s solicitor)
