Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Arnold met representatives from Staffordshire Police’s Multi-Cultural Association (MCA) last Thursday, 13 November.
Mrs Arnold met with MCA Chair Karleen Salmon-Denson, Vice Chair Ricardo Fields and Junaid Gharda, Head of Policy, Performance and Assurance in the Office of the PCC, and discussed the PCC’s Safer, Fairer, United Communities strategy and the work of the MCA.
The MCA aims to improve the working environment of ethnic minority police officers and staff with a view to improving the quality of service to the public and colleagues within Staffordshire.
Mrs Arnold said: “It was fantastic to meet Karleen and Ricky and discuss the great work that the MCA is involved in.
“We also talked about our new volunteers’ recruitment strategy and the opportunities to make sure the workforce and volunteers – such as Independent Custody Visitors and members of the Ethics, Transparency and Audit Panel – are representative of the communities they serve.
“I look forward to strengthening our relationship with the MCA in the coming months and identifying further opportunities to work together.”
Karleen and Ricardo said: “The MCA welcome the opportunity to work with the PCC to ensure that Staffordshire Police truly commits itself to representing the communities that we serve and we fully support the PCC’s Safer, Fairer, United communities strategy.”
