Mr Ellis spent two hours speaking with shoppers at Sainsbury’s in Biddulph between 11:15am-12:15pm and Morrisons in Leek between 1pm-2pm.

The ‘Let’s Talk’ events were the latest opportunity for people to tell Mr Ellis first-hand about crime and local policing and their experience of the criminal justice system.

Mr Ellis said: “These supermarket events have proved really popular with people across Staffordshire.

“It was a great opportunity to find out what people in Biddulph and Leek have to say about their experiences of policing and the criminal justice system in the Moorlands.

“I couldn’t believe the number of people I speak to who know what I’m doing as PCC – it’s really motivational.”

The meetings following similar successful ‘Let’s Talk’ events in places including Stafford, Rugeley, Burton, Cannock, Stone and Stoke-on-Trent in recent months.

The next ‘Let’s Talk’ takes place on Thursday 27 March in Tamworth. For more details visit
