Put your questions to the PCC in Staffordshire Moorlands

Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis will be hearing about the issues that matter to people in the Staffordshire Moorlands next week.

Mr Ellis is holding ‘Let’s Talk’ events in Biddulph and Leek on Thursday 20 March, starting with two supermarket surgeries. The Commissioner will be at Sainsbury’s in Wharf Road, Biddulph, between 11am and 12 noon and then at Morrisons in Newcastle Road, Leek, from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.

The events are the latest opportunity for people to tell Mr Ellis first-hand about crime and local policing and their experience of the criminal justice system. People are invited to come along to discuss any concerns they have about crime, policing and community safety with Mr Ellis – no appointment is needed.

Later that day, the Commissioner will be speaking at Moorlands Parish Assembly which is held from 7.30pm to 9pm at Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, Moorlands House, in Stockwell Street, Leek, ST13 6HQ. Members of the public are invited to attend and ask questions at the meeting. Free parking is available at the back of the council offices.

Mr Ellis said: “This is a great opportunity to find out what people in Biddulph, Leek and other parts of the Staffordshire Moorlands have to say. I want to hear what people’s experiences are of policing and the criminal justice system.

“It’s not NHS, local authority, CPS or police money….it’s all public money. We must scrap silo thinking, work to common goals – spend better, achieve more.

“How could things be done better to make sure the system fits the needs of people rather than people having to fit the system?”

“These events give local people a chance to shape the future of policing and the criminal justice services for us all.”

The meetings following similar successful ‘Let’s Talk’ events in places including Stafford, Rugeley, Burton, Cannock, Stone and Stoke-on-Trent in recent months.
