Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis covered a wide range of issues in a lively debate with around 30 youngsters in Stafford.
Mr Ellis was invited to the question and answer session with teenagers from Stafford Youth Forum and South Staffordshire District Youth Forum.
During the 90-minute discussion at Stafford Civic Centre, the Commissioner was quizzed on topics including anti-social behaviour, the PCC’s position and role, provision of youth services and building trust in the police.
He also spoke about the difference the Staffordshire Young Police Cadets Service is making to youngsters’ lives and ongoing work to develop new mobile phone technology to engage teenagers.
Mr Ellis said: “It was great to see such a packed room of young people who wanted to debate about serious issues that matter.
“There were some tough questions and strong views expressed in what was a really high-quality debate.
“It is encouraging to spend time with informed youngsters who have such a strong sense of civic engagement.”
The event followed debates in recent weeks between the Commissioner and students at Staffordshire University’s two Stoke-on-Trent campuses.
