We are clearly in challenging times and it is not known how long the Coronavirus will impact our everyday lives and the work of all our amazing emergency services.
I want to specifically thank, on behalf of people across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, all those who are working so diligently in policing and the fire and rescue service to keep us safe in difficult circumstances.
The Chief Constable informed me yesterday that he would be self-isolating and I wish him and all who are affected by the virus in policing and fire a speedy recovery and return to work. Our country and our public services are exceptionally resilient and if everyone follows the clear medical advice being provided, we will return to our normal everyday lives sooner.
