Over 80 members of a local community group attended a talk with Staffordshire Commissioner for Police, Fire and Rescue and Crime, Matthew Ellis on how the nature of crime is changing and becoming more complex.
The North Staffordshire Health Service Retired Fellowship invited the Commissioner to their meeting where he also discussed how online crime is fast overtaking traditional crime and what is being done to counteract it.
Matthew said: ‘I would like to thank the Fellowship for inviting me to their meeting and raising a number of interesting points.
‘I am especially grateful for the £50 donation to the Staffordshire Police Cadets. This was an unexpected donation from the group for which we are all extremely grateful.
‘The Staffordshire Police Cadet charity relies on community and business sponsorship and donations like this will allow the programme to expand and give more young people an opportunity to become a police cadet.’
