Staffordshire Police Cadets dish up treat for Lichfield residents

Staffordshire Police Cadets brought a smile to the faces of senior Lichfield lunch club members – also offering some helpful crime prevention tips along the way

The youngsters visited the Lichfield Life Church lunch club on Monday, helping to serve food for the diners and giving a drill demonstration.

The cadets, from the Lichfield unit of the Staffordshire Police Cadets, also gave a re-enactment to show how easily a wallet or purse could be stolen, to help raise awareness of personal safety.

The Staffordshire Police Cadets were introduced in 2013 by Staffordshire Police, Fire and Rescue and Crime Commissioner, Matthew Ellis, and are delivered by Staffordshire Police.

Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Arnold said: ‘It was lovely to see the rapport between the young cadets and the lunch club members attending the lunch.

‘Many of these people are isolated or vulnerable so it was also about giving them a few tips about crime prevention.

‘Advanced nurse practitioner Sam Dodds does wonderful work for the Lichfield Life Church and it was lovely for the diners to see the caring and kind side of youngsters.’
