Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis has spoken about the superb work being done in Staffordshire to protect the vulnerable.
Mr Ellis said: “In Staffordshire safeguarding agencies are amongst the best in the country doing tremendous work to keep the vulnerable safer. Through the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) agencies are working alongside each other, sharing information and making collaborative decisions.
“Great services working jointly together and making a real difference to people’s lives fits exactly with my 5 year plan.
“But following today’s news of the plight of two year old Keanu Williams and 4 year old Hamzah Khan, we can’t stand still or become complacent.
“Despite professionals’ best efforts, information sharing is always the theme when things go wrong. It is these issues we have to get over and we need to get it right.
“As part of my wider technology review, I’m making funds available to see what investment in technology can make these great services even better. Investing in information sharing and integrating services is the only way to keep driving the shift in culture to put the needs of the vulnerable at the heart of Staffordshire’s safeguarding system.”
