Let’s Talk success in Tunstall

Staffordshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis met talked to almost 200 people in Tunstall yesterday.

Mr Ellis heard about the issues that mattered to shoppers at Asda Tunstall in the afternoon before answering questions and discussing future plans at a public meeting at The Co-operative Academy in Westport Road in the evening.

As part of the ‘Let’s Talk – Coming To You’ event, The Commissioner also met police and partners involved in a multi-agency project which works with vulnerable families who are affected by drug and alcohol in Stoke-on-Trent.

He said: “It was great to speak to so many people on such a sunny day in Tunstall and hear directly about their experiences of policing and the criminal justice system.

“I was also bowled over by the joined-up work that is making a real impact through early intervention in the lives of vulnerable families in Stoke-on-Trent.

“Broadly speaking, people were positive about our plans to make services work more effectively together and fit around people rather than people having to fit the services.”
