The Government’s cyber security campaign, Cyber Aware, is urging people and businesses to #ThinkRandom when it comes to creating strong passwords.
Sue Arnold, Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for Staffordshire, said:
“Fraud and cybercrime cost the UK economy an estimated £52 billion every year but we can all take simple steps which will help prevent around 80 per cent of cyber-attacks such as identity theft and on line fraud.
One sensible precaution is to use complex passwords and change them regularly which is why the #thinkrandom campaign makes sense. Individuals and businesses should use three random words to create a strong password on line.
We have launched Cyber Safe Staffordshire to help people and businesses across Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent avoid becoming victims”.
