Topics to be discussed by Staffordshire Commissioner Ben Adams and Chief Constable Chris Noble at a public meeting on Monday (7 October) will include Staffordshire Police’s latest performance report, the force’s proactive approach to rural and business crime and the launch of a new Road Crime Team.
During the Police Public Performance Meeting, which will be broadcast live online from 10am, the Commissioner will ask the Chief Constable about the progress Staffordshire Police is making in its ambition to become an outstanding local Police force once again.
Staffordshire Commissioner for Police, Fire & Rescue and Crime Ben Adams said: “Part of my role as Commissioner is to monitor the force’s performance on behalf of the communities of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
“In the latest report from His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services, Staffordshire Police was one of only a few forces to demonstrate improvements across the board. I will be asking Chief Constable Chris Noble about the work underway across the force to ensure this momentum is maintained.
“I would encourage anyone wanting to hear more about this report, and any of the other topics discussed, to follow Monday’s meeting, which will be live-streamed online and available to watch in full afterwards.”
Topics discussed at the meeting will include:
- The latest report from His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabularies and Fire & Rescue Services, which showed that Staffordshire Police had made improvements in the majority of categories since their last inspection in 2022, making the force one of the most improved in the country
- Plans to bolster proactive policing to protect rural and business communities, with more officers trained in responding to specific crimes common in rural areas, and working with retailers to tackle shoplifting and assaults on shop workers
- The launch of a new Road Crime Team, bringing together the force’s response to motorway and general roads policing to allow the teams to work more closely together in making Staffordshire’s roads safer
The Police Public Performance Meeting will be live-streamed online from 10am on Monday 7 October, and will also be available to view afterwards.
