The Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership (SSRP) has launched a new campaign to highlight irresponsible driving behaviours and remind motorists that dangerous driving rarely saves journey time.
Every road user has a responsibility to keep themselves and others safe. No one’s journey is more important than another’s.
In 2025, 23% of collisions in Staffordshire were due to drivers not looking properly or misjudging the speed or direction of someone else on the road.
Common examples of risky behaviour include:
- Pulling out at junctions without sufficient clearance
- Ignoring pedestrians at designated crossings
- Attempting to overtake on dangerous bends or roads with poor visibility
- Speeding
A campaign video has been created to highlight some irresponsible driver behaviours and encourage motorists to think twice about their behaviour on the road.
Staffordshire Commissioner for Police, Fire & Rescue and Crime Ben Adams is chair of the SSRP. He said: “Every collision has a ripple effect and can impact families, communities, and emergency services.
“Driving irresponsibly can not only add time to your journey but can potentially have serious consequences. We’re asking drivers to consider the potential impact of their behaviour and share the road responsibly.”
