The elections for the Police & Crime Commissioners (PCCs) take place on Thursday, 2 May 2024. In the case of Staffordshire, the role also includes the governance of the Fire & Rescue Service, hence the elections are for a Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC).
The formal pre-election period begins on 18 March 2024 and from that time there will be restrictions on the media activities of the current Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner.
The office will not be releasing any press releases to promote the work of the PFCC or making any announcements that are in any way novel or contentious after 18 March 2024.
We may put factual material into the public domain using neutral Staffordshire Commissioner’s Office branding during the election period.
I hope this is helpful in setting out the role of the Staffordshire Commissioner’s Office during this pre-election period and our relationship with the democratic process.
Further information, including our detailed protocol are available on the Staffordshire Commissioner’s website.
