Helping To Keep You safe

Commissioning organisations to provide the services or support needed by communities across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent is a critical and statutory aspect of the Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner’s role. In recent years, there has been an increasing devolvement of central budgets to Commissioners to fulfil this purpose.

Opportunities to work with partners are constantly sought to encourage sharing of knowledge, intelligence, resources and alignment of budgets wherever possible. By adopting this approach, the Staffordshire Commissioner’s Office ensures the best range of efficient and effective services are available to meet local needs.

In February 2022, Staffordshire Police, Fire & Rescue and Crime Commissioner Ben Adams
established a new Staffordshire Community Safety Forum, which for the first time brought together a wide range of agencies including Police, Fire & Rescue, local authorities, NHS, Ambulance Service, Environment Agency, criminal justice and the voluntary sector, to focus jointly on the key issues that impact our communities.

Some examples of early intervention services the Staffordshire Commissioner’s Office has commissioned to help prevent crime and anti-social behaviour include:
