Ben Adams, the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner is pleased to announce that following a two-day interview process, his preferred candidate for the role of Chief Fire Officer in Staffordshire is Rob Barber, currently the Deputy Chief Fire Officer in Staffordshire’s Fire and Rescue Service.
The appointment is subject to the outcome of a Police, Fire and Crime Panel confirmation hearing that is due to take place on 12 October 2021. The Panel will consider the criteria used to assess the suitability of the candidate for the appointment; why the candidate satisfies those criteria; and the terms and conditions on which the candidate is to be appointed, thereafter making a recommendation to the Commissioner of their support, or not for the preferred candidate.
