Staffordshire Commissioner to present Annual Report to Police, Fire & Crime Panel

Staffordshire Commissioner for Police, Fire & Rescue and Crime, Ben Adams will present his Annual Report to a meeting of the Police, Fire & Crime Panel on Monday 3 July, which will be broadcast live online from 10am.

The Police, Fire & Crime Panel regularly meets to give their views on the Staffordshire Commissioner’s plans and decisions, and is an important part of the Office’s commitment to being open, honest and transparent.

The Annual Report covers the work of the Office over the last year, which includes:

  • Successful bids of over £3m to improve safety for women and girls, ASB (anti-social behaviour) and home and business security
  • Over £920k committed to funding our ten local community safety partnerships for 3 years
  • Over 60,000 victims of ASB and crime, including domestic abuse, supported between April 2022 and March 2023
  • £500k made available to invest in technology to help identify vehicles used by criminals on our roads
  • Over £470k additional funding for local domestic abuse and sexual violence services

Staffordshire Commissioner Ben Adams said: “This Annual Report highlights the progress made in delivering improvements set out in my strategic Police and Fire Plans and details how my team continue to invest in essential services.

“As a result, communities in Staffordshire are benefitting from a more local response, improved contact, a more effective criminal justice system, an improved response to ASB and better support for victims of crime.

“With the support of my professional team, I have been able to establish strong relationships with local community safety partners, criminal justice agencies, health authorities and others.

“Despite a challenging year, both Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire Fire & Rescue have made improvements and embraced new challenges. By working closer together, we are well placed to address drug and alcohol addiction, reduce violence, serve justice more quickly, prevent accidents and fires and tackle crime and ASB to help keep Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent safe.”

People can follow the meeting live wherever they are via the web, and it will also be available to view online afterwards.
